Center for Vein Restoration reports data breach exposing data of nearly half a million people

Center for Vein Restoration (“CVR”) reports that on October 6, 2024 they detected an unauthorized access to their computer network systems. The healthcare services provider secured their network and initiated an investigation with the assistance of third-party forensics experts while also notifying law enforcement of the incident.

The investigation confirmed that an unauthorized party was able to access confidential information belonging to both patients and employees.  The breach affected 446,094 individuals. The compromised data includes:

  • Names and addresses
  • Dates of birth
  • Social Security numbers
  • Driver's license numbers
  • Medical record numbers
  • Medical information
  • Health insurance information
  • Financial information
  • Employment information

The nature of the attack has not been disclosed.

CVR has begun sending out data breach notification letters to all affected individuals.
