The City of Green River, Wyoming is hit by a ransomware attack that has impacted the municipality's computer systems. 

Chris Meats, the city's finance director, commented that the attack has effectively "crippled" the city's technological infrastructure, forcing municipal operations to adapt to manual processes and alternative solutions.

The city reported the incident to the authorities and is working with external agencies to provide continuity of essential services. David Halter, the IT director for the Sweetwater Combined Communications Joint Powers Board, confirmed that the dispatch center is providing critical assistance to the Green River Police Department by supplying a temporary network and computers to help officers complete their reports and maintain law enforcement operations.

The temporary network provided to the police department has been isolated from the city's compromised network infrastructure.

The city's finance director claims that at this point, there is no evidence of a data breach or data exfiltration. The number of affected individuals has not been disclosed.

Green River Recreation Center are informing patrons that only cash payments can be accepted, indicating that electronic payment processing systems have been affected by the incident.
