CompleteCare Health Network reports data breach after October ransomware attack

On December 7, 2023, CompleteCare Health Network (CCHN), reported a ransomware attack first identified on October 12, 2023 that enabled unauthorized access to its computer network.
CompleteCare Health Network operates across New Jersey with 14 facilities, including Cape May Medical, Bridgeton Women’s Medical, Family Medicine at Inspira, and several dental and medical centers. The network offers a diverse range of healthcare services, such as primary care, dental care, immunizations, and HIV services.
In response to the attack, CCHN took action to secure its systems and engaged third-party data security specialists to conduct a thorough investigation. The findings confirmed that the hackers were able to access specific files within CCHN's network, containing confidential patient information.
This cyberattack, has compromised sensitive patient information, including:
- names,
- Social Security numbers,
- phone numbers,
- addresses,
- medical data.
No details are disclosed about the number of affected individuals.
CCHN began the process of sending out data breach notification letters on December 15, 2023.
