Strive HoldCo, LLC (doing business as Strive Medical) reports a data breach following the discovery that an unauthorized party accessed an employee's email account.
Strive Medical, based in Irving, Texas, is a medical supplies company specializing in urological, wound care, ostomy, and incontinence products.
On January 31, 2024, Strive Medical identified that an employee's email account may have been accessed without authorization. The investigation determined that the unauthorized access occurred between January 29 and January 31, 2024. Emails and attachments containing sensitive information were potentially accessed, including personal identification details and medical records.
The breach potentially exposed sensitive consumer information, including:
- names,
- dates of birth,
- medical information,
- provider names,
- medical record numbers,
- patient account numbers,
- Medicaid or Medicare ID numbers,
- prescription details,
- health insurance information.
The number of affected individuals is not disclosed.
After identifying the affected consumers, Strive Medical sent out notification letters on August 28, 2024, to those impacted by the incident.
