On January 17th, 2024, Dawson James Securities, Inc., a financial services company based in Florida, reported a data breach after the firm discovered that an unauthorized individual had gained access to certain parts of its computer network.
The breach was first noticed due to abnormal activity on June 30, 2023. Dawson James Securities, secured its systems and sought the expertise of external cybersecurity professionals to investigate the breach. The investigation, which concluded on December 8, 2023, confirmed unauthorized network access between June 29 and June 30, 2023, and confirmed that the breach resulted in exposure of customer data.
Dawson James has not disclosed the nature of the compromised data, the nature of the attack or the number of affected individuals. The impacted customers are being sent notification letters starting January 17, 2024.
