1st Source Corp., a bank company with multiple branches in the Fort Wayne area, has reported a data breach linked to Progress Software Corp., a vendor that provides services to 1st Source's banks.
In response to the threat, 1st Source promptly patched the software according to the vendor's protocols. However, during their own investigation, with the help of cybersecurity forensic experts, they discovered that an unauthorized third party had gained access to sensitive data belonging to commercial and individual clients, including personally identifiable information.
Affected individuals are being notified by the bank company. The breach appears to be contained, and there is no evidence of any impact on other information systems apart from the MOVEit application, according to the filing.
The investigation is ongoing. No details are available as to the number of affected individuals nor the type of exposed data.
Update - on 24th June 1st Source Corp, a Commercial and Consumer bank, announced that the security breach has resulted in approximately 450,000 records being impacted, but no details are provided about the types of data contained in the exposed files.
