Franklin Templeton Investments Announces Data Breach stemming from the Fortra GoAnywhere vulnerability

Franklin Templeton Investments Corporation (also known as Franklin Templeton Canada) reported a data breach, disclosing that an unauthorized party had accessed consumer data, including names, addresses.

The and Franklin Templeton account numbers, through a cybersecurity incident at their third-party vendor, InvestorCOM. Franklin Templeton Canada was recently notified that InvestorCOM was the target of a cyberattack which has it;s source in the vulnerability in the GoAnywhere managed file transfer service developed by Fortra, LLC.

Franklin Templeton Investments promptly sent data breach notification letters to the 89,470 individuals affected by the breach, and their investigation confirmed that no internal systems were breached and the unauthorized access was limited to information provided to InvestorCOM.
