World Leaks gang claims cyberattack and are extorting Freedman HealthCare

Massachusetts-based health data management company Freedman HealthCare is has been hit cyberattack and attempt at extortion claimed by the cybercriminal group World Leaks, formerly known as Hunters International.
Freedman HealthCare provides database and non-claims payment systems to dozens of US state-run public health departments and non-profit organizations. They were targeted by World Leaks in an attack discovered on June 15, 2025.
The attackers claim to have stolen 52.4 GB of data containing 42,204 files, threatening to release the sensitive information at 4 am EDT on Tuesday 17th of June unless their demands were met. Unlike traditional ransomware groups, World Leaks focuses purely on data theft and extortion without encrypting victims' systems.
