Rheinmetall confirmed on Monday that the Black Basta ransomware group was behind a cyberattack it detected last month.
Rheinmetall, the German arms company, has confirmed that the cyberattack it experienced last month was carried out by the Black Basta ransomware group, with the incident primarily affecting its civilian business operations which runs on a completely separate IT infrastructure.
The attack coincided with reports that Rheinmetall was in talks about constructing a new tank factory in Ukraine.
Rheinmetall has informed the relevant authorities following the incident, and has “filed a criminal complaint with the Cologne public prosecutor's office.”
