The Rhysida ransomware operation has leaked documents online that they claim were stolen from the network of the Chilean Army during a security incident that was detected over the weekend on May 27 and confirmed by the army on May 29.

In a weird and unexplained twist, several days after the attack was disclosed, local Chilean media reported that an Army corporal was arrested and charged for his involvement in the ransomware attack.

The group describes themselves as a cybersecurity team aiming to assist victims in securing their networks.

Apparently Rhysida has published around 360,000 Chilean Army documents, which according to the hackers is about 30% of the entire set of stolen data.
