GLOBAL GROUP ransomware claims breach of Albavisión media conglomerate

The GLOBAL GROUP ransomware gang has claimed responsibility for a cyberattack against Albavisión, a major Spanish-language media conglomerate based in Miami, Florida.

Albavisión is one of Latin America's largest media companies, which operates approximately 45 television channels, 68 radio stations, one print publication, and around 65 movie theaters across 14 to 15 Spanish-speaking countries.

The attack was discovered on July 28, 2025, with GLOBAL GROUP listing Albavisión on their dark web site. The hackers claim to have stolen 400 GB of company data. The nature of the stolen data has not been disclosed by either the attackers or the company. 

The number of affected individuals has not been disclosed.
