The Hospital Simone Veil in Cannes (CHC-SV), has suffered a significant cyber attack that disrupted its operations, leading to a halt in medical procedures and a shift back to manual methods such as pen and paper for documentation.

The attack, which occurred on Tuesday morning, 16th of April 2024, forced the hospital to postpone all non-urgent surgical procedures and consultations for the week. The hospital took all computers offline to contain the attack. Telephone systems remained operational.

No details are disclosed abouth the attack and it's impact on individuals.

So far no ransom demands have been made, nor has any data theft been detected thus far. The hospital is collaborating with several cybersecurity and health organizations, to investigate the incident. Essential services such as emergency care, surgery, and other critical departments continue to operate.

Update - As of 1st of May 2024, CHC-SV announced it received a ransom demand from the Lockbit 3.0 ransomware gang, saying they refuse to pay the ransom.
