Thyssenkrupp, a leading German industrial engineering and steel production conglomerate, confirmed that it experienced a ransomware attack targeting its Automotive Body Solutions business, resulting in the disruption of factory production work.

Headquartered in Duisburg and Essen, Germany, Thyssenkrupp is among the world's top steel producers, with operations spanning 670 subsidiaries globally.

The confirmation came after The Wall Street Journal reported that the company had to take several computer systems offline due to signs of a hacker attack.
