Crystal Lake Health Centers (CLHC), a network of 11 healthcare clinics across Michigan, has reportedly fallen victim to a cyberattack by the group known as Hunters International. The exact date of the breach remains unclear, but was made publicwhen Hunters International posted a notice on their leak site claiming possession of an array of CLHC's confidential data.
The stolen data supposedly amounts to a staggering 120 GB in total and includes
- patient and employee personal details,
- financial records,
- real estate and insurance documents,
- legal files,
- other sensitive information,
The crime group has publicly released 47.5 MB across 21 files as evidence of the breach.
Hunters International offered CLHC a chance to negotiate terms for data confidentiality, network recovery tools, and assurances of data deletion, threatening to release the full extent of the stolen data publicly if their conditions were not met.
Security researchers have confirmed the authenticity of the leaked data, including detailed patient records and compromised employee login credentials that appear to be weak and repetitive.
CLHC has yet to issue a response and provide any details about the event.
