Learn More
The cybercriminal group Hunters International added Betances Health Center, a New York-based provider of comprehensive healthcare services, to their leak site, claiming to have encrypted and exfiltrated a significant amount of data from the center.
By July 25, 2024, the group had leaked nearly 125 GB of data, comprising 361,564 files, containing highly sensitive patient information. The leaked data has been confirmed to be authentic through external verification. It includes sensitive personal and medical information, such as multi-page reports on individual patients.
Betances Health Center has not publicly acknowledged the cyberattack or provided any updates on their website regarding the incident. As of now, there has been no listing of this breach on the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) public breach tool, and it remains unclear how many patients have been affected by this incident.
There is also no indication on Betances’ website that the alleged encryption common in ransomware attacks has disrupted patient care or services.
