Hyundai AutoEver America, LLC is reporting a cyber attack and data breach that compromised sensitive customer information.
Hyundai AutoEver America is an affiliate of Hyundai Motor Group that provides comprehensive IT consulting, managed services, and helpdesk support for the entire lifecycle of automotive information technology from production to retirement. The company supplies specialized IT solutions and services tailored to the automotive industry, particularly for Hyundai and Kia affiliates, including critical systems for vehicle telematics, over-the-air (OTA) updates, maps, vehicle connectivity, embedded systems, and autonomous driving technology.
The attack began on February 22, 2025, and attackers were active for approximately nine days. The company detected the breach on March 1, 2025. The investigation confirmed that attackers accessed customer data. Exposed data includes:
- Full names
- Social Security Numbers (SSNs)
- Driver's license information
- Additional personal data elements that vary by individual
The nature of the attack and number of affected individuals is not disclosed.
The company sent breach notification letters to affected individuals on November 3, 2025. Hyundai AutoEver is offering complimentary two-year credit monitoring and identity protection services at no cost to impacted individuals.
Update - as of 12th of November 2025, the company reports that 2,000 individuals were directly affected by the incident.
