Kairos Ransomware Group Claims 441GB Data Theft from Strata Republic

Strata Republic, based in New South Wales, Australia, was listed as a victim on the Kairos ransomware group's darknet leak site on April 17, 2026. 

The threat actors claim to have stolen a significant volume of sensitive data from the company's internal systems. The organization has not officially confirmed the incident but the hackers published several documents as proof of the breach, including financial reports and employee identification records.

The compromised data allegedly includes:

  • 441 GB of total exfiltrated files
  • Employee driver's licenses
  • Income tax reports containing Tax File Numbers (TFNs)
  • Strata plan balance sheets and financial records
  • Internal HR documents, including letters of reprimand
  • Private corporate event photographs

The number of affected individuals is not disclosed. 

Strata Republic has not yet responded to requests for comment or issued a public statement regarding the status of the hacker claims. There is currently no public information confirming if law enforcement agencies like the Australian Federal Police have been notified or if external forensic experts have been hired to contain the breach. The threat actors have set a five-day deadline from the initial post to release the full dataset if their undisclosed demands are not met.
