L&S Mechanical, a Texas-based contractor specializing in plumbing, HVAC, and electrical services, reports a data breach on March 6, 2026. 

The incident resulted from a ransomware attack that compromised the personal information of 5,139 Texas residents. The Space Bears ransomware group claimed responsibility for the attack.

The Space Bears group claims to have stolen the organization’s internal database, project documentation, and technical drawings. The compromised data allegedly includes:

  • Full names and Social Security numbers
  • Driver’s license and government-issued ID numbers (passports, state IDs)
  • Credit or debit card numbers and financial account numbers
  • Medical information and health insurance details

The number of affected individuals is 5,139. The company reported the incident to law enforcement and is currently cooperating with their investigation. Notifications are being sent to affected individuals via U.S. mail. It's not clear if any credit monitoring or identity protection is or will be offered.
