Pyramid ETC Companies, LLC, a contractor specializing in affordable housing construction, reports a data breach on on March 5, 2026. 

The Akira ransomware group claimed responsibility for the attack, stating they stole 10 GB of organizational data. The hackers first posted about the incident on October 2, 2024. The company's official filing indicates the unauthorized access occurred between October 2 and October 22, 2025, a major discrepancy in the reported timeline.  The reason for the one-year gap between the hacker's claim and the company's reported incident date is not clear, can be multiple breaches or a reporting error.

According to the hackers, the stolen data includes:

  • Social Security numbers
  • Passports and driver’s licenses
  • Birth certificates and personal documents
  • Non-disclosure agreements and contracts
  • Detailed financial records

The company confirmed that the compromised data includes Social Security numbers. The number of affected individuals not disclosed. 

The company is providing a complimentary identity monitoring services including credit monitoring, fraud consultation, and identity theft restoration.
