On 14th of November 2023, Medical Eye Services, Inc. (MESVision) reported a data breach traced back to a critical vulnerability found in the MOVEit software program, which MESVision had been using. The breach resulted in an intrusion by an unauthorized party into MESVision's systems, granting them access to confidential information belonging to consumers, including their names and Social Security numbers.
This breach had taken place between May 28, 2023, and May 31, 2023, during which time the unauthorized party had accessed and removed specific files containing sensitive consumer information.
The subsequent investigation involved cybersecurity experts confirmed that the compromised files contained sensitive information which vary from one individual to another but generally included personal details such as names and Social Security numbers.
MESVision did not disclose the numer of affected individuals.
On November 14, 2023, Medical Eye Services initiated the process of sending out data breach notification letters to all individuals who had been affected by this recent data security incident. These letters were intended to provide victims with a detailed account of which specific pieces of their information had been compromised.
