Bluebonnet Trails Community Services is a healthcare and social services provider based in Round Rock, Texas. They offer a range of services, including mental health support, developmental disability services, substance abuse treatment, and family health care.
The breach was first detected on October 5th, 2023, when the company noticed suspicious activity in its email accounts. The investigation determined that an unauthorized party accessed some employee email accounts from July 20, 2023, to October 6, 2023.
These compromised accounts contained sensitive information, including:
- Names
- Dates of birth
- Social Security numbers
- Driver’s license numbers
- State identification numbers
- Financial account numbers
- Medical information
- Health insurance information
- Full-access credentials
- Government-issued identification numbers
At least 76,000 individuals were impacted by this breach.
On February 26, 2024, Bluebonnet Trails began notifying individuals impacted by the breach, sending letters to those whose information was compromised.
