The company is a direct seller to major entities such as Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and Ginnie Mae and offers a variety of loan products including FHA loans, VA loans, conventional mortgages, and second mortgages.
The breach was initially identified on December 30, 2023, when Nations Direct became aware of potential unauthorized access to its IT network. Immediate actions were taken to contain the breach, including notifying law enforcement and engaging third-party data security specialists to investigate.
The unauthorized access led to the exposure of sensitive customer information, including:
