NextGen Healthcare Inc., a provider of electronic health record software, reported a data breach resulting in the theft of approximately 1 million individual records. The breach, which occurred between March 29 and April 14 and was discovered on April 24, involved unauthorized access to a database using stolen client credentials from unrelated incidents. The stolen information includes names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, and addresses, but no healthcare records were compromised.
NextGen has notified the affected individuals and offered two years of identity monitoring and theft protection services. This breach follows a previous ransomware attack on NextGen earlier this year.
