OEC Group is a global logistics and freight forwarding company headquartered in Rosedale, New York. The company specializes in supply chain solutions, including ocean and air freight, customs brokerage, warehousing, and distribution services.
The security incident was initially detected on May 13, 2024, when OEC Group discovered unauthorized access to its computer network. The secured its systems and launched an investigation with assistance from external cybersecurity specialists.
After nearly nine months of investigation, on February 14, 2025, OEC Group confirmed that an unauthorized party had successfully accessed certain files on their network containing confidential consumer information. The compromised data includes:
- Full names
- Social Security numbers
The nature of the attack and the number of affected individuals is not disclosed.
On March 14, 2025 the company sent data breach notification letters to all impacted individuals.
