The online jewelry retailer Glamira was hit by a data breach affecting customers who made purchases through their online store prior to December 16, 2023. Glamira confirmed that "an unauthorised individual briefly accessed one of our servers." The nature of the attack is not disclosed.
The incident involved unauthorized access to one of their servers, resulting in the exposure and subsequent publication of customer information on a hacking forum. The exposed data includes:
- Customer email addresses
- Full names
- Phone numbers
- Order history and purchase details
Scale and Impact: According to Have I Been Pwned, the breach affected approximately 875,000 customer accounts.The data is not entirely new - about 68% of the compromised data had previously appeared in their database. This means that the data dump is either an aggregate of multiple breaches, or over 500,000 customers recycle their passwords.
The stolen information has already been misused for spam email campaigns, among other malicious activities.
