Orrick, a Wheeling, West Virginia based law firm with international operations, has reported suffering a data breach.
In the breach an unauthorized third party gained remote access to a portion of the Orrick's network and accessed certain client files stored in a file share; personal information of vision plan participants, including
- names,
- addresses,
- dates of birth,
- phone numbers,
- email addresses,
- Social Security numbers,
- vision insurance account/identification numbers,
- health insurance account/identification numbers
Financial information or credit card numbers were not compromised.
Unfortunately, no details are available abot the attack nor number of affected individuals.
Update - Orrick is subsequently reporting hat the external hacking incident affected nearly 153,000 individuals
On 5th of January 2024, Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe,reported that the data breach has compromised personal and sensitive health information of over 637,000 individuals
Orrick has taken immediate action to block unauthorized access, launched an investigation with cybersecurity experts, notified law enforcement, and deployed additional security measures.
Orrick is offering affected individuals two years of complimentary identity monitoring services and have set up a dedicated call center for inquiries.
