Persante Health Care, a New Jersey-based healthcare company specializing in sleep management services, is reporting a data security incident that exposed data of patients.
The company provides sleep management care services for conditions such as insomnia and sleep apnea, including diagnostic testing, sleep centers, at-home treatment, and related healthcare services to patients nationwide.
On or about January 28, 2025, Persante Health Care detected unusual activity and launched an investigation. The investigation confirmed that attackers had gained access to its network between January 23 and January 28, 2025, potentially accessing or acquiring certain files containing sensitive personal and protected health information. The exposed data includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Date of birth
- Financial account number
- Payment card numbers
- Driver's license number
- State identification number
- Passport number
- Governmental identification number
- Individual taxpayer identification number
- Medical information (dates of medical service, physician or medical facility information, medical condition or treatment information, medical diagnosis information, Medicare or Medicaid number, patient account number, medical record number, medical device identifiers)
- Individual health insurance policy number
- Biometric identifiers
The nature of the attack and the number of affected individuals is not disclosed.
On November 26, 2025, Persante Health Care began mailing data breach notification letters to all potentially impacted individuals. The company reported the incident to the FBI and has taken additional steps to prevent similar events from occurring in the future. Persante Health Care is providing affected individuals with complimentary identity protection services and established a toll-free call center to address questions and concerns from affected individuals.
