PokerStars reports MOVEit vulnerability Data Breach, exposing 110,000 SSNs

PokerStars, operated by TSG Interactive US Services Limited, reported a data breach in which hackers gained access to confidential consumer information through a vulnerable file transfer application. The compromised files were accessed between May 30, 2023, and May 31, 2023, through a critical vulnerability in the MOVEit software.
The breach exposed sensitive data of users, including
- names,
- Social Security numbers,
- addresses,
It's estimated that approximately 110,000 individuals are impacted. The incident prompted PokerStars to conduct a thorough investigation with the help of data security experts and to notify affected individuals about the breach.
PokerStars sent out data breach notification letters to affected customers on July 20, 2023.
