Qilin ransomware gang claims breach of Valley Eye Associates

Valley Eye Associates, an eye care practice in Appleton, Wisconsin, is claimed to be attacked by the Qilin ransomware group.
The hackers claim to have breached the company network between October 8 and October 9, 2025 and stole internal documents. Valley Eye Associates disabled the systems immediately after discovering the breach, hired a cybersecurity firm to investigate the scope of the incident and notified law enforcement.
On October 25, 2025, the attackers posted screenshots of sensitive files and internal databases as proof of the theft on their dark web leak site. The allegedly stolen data includes:
- Full names and home addresses
- Driver’s license numbers
- Medical records and health history
- Employee records and internal documents
The number of affected individuals is not disclosed.
The practice is sending notification letters to affected individuals and has added new security protections to their email systems to prevent future attacks. They advise patients to monitor their financial and medical accounts for any strange activity.
