The Queensland government has confirmed that files from its systems have been compromised in the HWL Ebsworth breach, and they are currently investigating the extent of the breach and its impact on government information.

The Queensland government is working with HWL Ebsworth and relevant Commonwealth agencies to manage the consequences of the data theft and ensure affected parties are notified.

The report directed specific enquiries relating to the incident towards HWL Ebsworth.

Unfortunately, the report provides very vague information about the impact and a lot of political filler speak:

The report is claiming that the breach saw a number of “documents relating to a limited number of department’s files” exposed. Also, there is no clarity as to the number of affected individuals, as the report states that "Should personal information be affected, the individual departments will work with HWL Ebsworth to ensure affected individuals are notified as soon as possible, and offer assistance and support as required.”
