Capital One Bank impacted by cyberattack on NCB Management

Capital One has disclosed that it was impacted by a cyberattack on NCB Management Services, a debt-buying company.
Over 16,500 Capital One customers have their sensitive information exposed, including
- addresses,
- Social Security numbers,
- account numbers,
- account status.
NCB had initially sent breach notification letters in March to former Bank of America customers affected.
Capital One has now confirmed its involvement and is providing free identity monitoring services to affected individuals, while investigations into the incident continue, and the source of the attack remains unknown;
Meanwhile, a consumer rights law firm has filed a class action lawsuit against NCB Management Services on behalf of Bank of America credit card holders affected by the breach.
