RansomEXX publishes Digicel Group data dump

RansomEXX group has published a data dump of Digicel Group, a leading telecommunications provider in Trinidad and Tobago.

The data dump contains 164GB of company data from 2021 and over 160,000 files including a wide array of the company's operational facets:

  • financial records such as receivables and payables,
  • human resources information,
  • ICT configuration files,
  • data pertaining to subsidiaries
  • sales data,
  • marketing strategies,
  • internal project details,
  • third-party agreements,
  • competitive analysis.

The data dump has received extensive attention, evidenced by the 940,000 views of  data dump since its exposure. .

Despite the widespread impact of the breach, Abraham Smith, CEO of Digicel Trinidad and Tobago, clarified that the Trinidad and Tobago operations were not affected by the breach, and that their data remained secure.

No details about the nature of the attack are available from Digicel.

Earlier this year, Trinidad and Tobago government institutions were impacted by cyberattacks. In a (hopefully) separate attack, Telecommunications Services of Trinidad and Tobago was also attacked and breached by RansomEXX group.
