Threat actors from the Hunters International ransomware gang have claimed responsibility for an alleged ransomware attack on Queensland-based accounting firm Gibbs Hurley Chartered Accountants. The firm, located in Paddington, Brisbane, specializes in taxation and superannuation compliance advice for SMEs and high-net-worth individuals.

Hunters International listed Gibbs Hurley Chartered Accountants on its dark web leak site on July 15. The listing contained minimal details. The gang only highlighted the firm's annual revenue of $5.1 million and its workforce of 25 employees but withheld further specifics regarding the nature or scope of the breach.

Hunters International has not set a date or countdown for the release of the firm’s data. It's either in negotiations with the firm, or are simply trying to pressure customers of Gibbs Hurley for them to pay a ransom.

As of now, Gibbs Hurley has not acknowledged the incident.
