Rhysida ransomware group claims attack on Island of Martinique

Learn More

A recently emerged ransomware group called Rhysida has claimed responsibility for an attack on the government of Martinique, as indicated on their leak site. While there is no current notice nor information from Martinique's government, a notice posted on May 24 acknowledged the cyberattack and outlined the measures taken to isolate the information system and restore operations.

A portion of the leaked files from the Rhysida ransomware group are confirmed to be government-related to Martinique. Rhysida did not provide a summary of the leaked files or information about the size or content of the data leak. The exact date of the attack is uncertain, but leaked files suggest that the data dump occurred shortly after May 16.

Unlike some other ransomware groups that publicly warn victims before leaking their data, Rhysida immediately publishes the leaked files without prior notice. The leak site currently only displays the listings of fully leaked victims, and the timing of the attacks or encryption is not provided.
