Sinobi ransomware gang claims that they have breached Pittsburgh Gastroenterology Associates, a digestive health medical practice based in Pennsylvania. 

On August 20, 2025, the ransomware group listed the medical practice on their dark web leak site, claiming it has stolen sensitive patient and employee data.

The types of allegedly stolen data and number of affected individuals is not disclosed.

Pittsburgh Gastroenterology Associates detected technical issues affecting their phone and computer systems and Pittsburgh Gastroenterology Associates announced the problems on their website. So far the practice has not confirmed whether these issues resulted from a cybersecurity incident. As a HIPAA-covered healthcare entity, the organization will be legally required to issue certain federal and state breach disclosures.
