The Iranian hacking group IR Leaks has taken responsibility for a cyberattack on Snapp Food, Iran's leading food delivery app, claiming they have personal details of over 20 million users. Snapp Food is a leading online food delivery service in Iran, akin to Uber Eats or Grubhub in other countries. It operates as a part of the larger Snapp Group, which also includes Snapp, a popular ride-hailing service in Iran.

The stolen data includes:

  • usernames,
  • passwords,
  • email addresses,
  • full names,
  • mobile numbers,
  • precise details of 51 million user addresses with GPS coordinates.

The hackers are offering the data set for sale at $30,000 and have released a sample of this data to substantiate their claim. The hackers stated they chose not to notify Snapp Food's management before publicizing the hack.

Responding to the incident, Snapp Food, in cooperation with the Iranian Cyber Police, announced measures to address the breach's impact.

This attack follows a similar pattern by IR Leaks, who previously targeted the ride-hailing service Tapsi, impacting 33 million users and unsuccessfully attempted to extort $35,000 from the company.
