Tacoma Community College staff and students impacted by MOVEit third-party breach

Tacoma Community College (TCC) has been notified by two third-party vendors, National Student Clearinghouse (NSC) and Teachers Insurance Annuity Association (TIAA), about a cybersecurity incident involving the software tool MOVEit Transfer

The incident may have exposed personally identifiable information of some students and employees.

TCC does not use MOVEit Transfer directly, but its partnerships with NSC and TIAA make it potentially impacted by the breach.

At this time, the exact number of affected individuals is unknown, and the breach has not affected TCC or the State Board for Community and Technical Colleges (SBCTC) systems.

TCC is closely monitoring the situation and working with relevant authorities to protect data and address potential legal implications. Impacted individuals are expected to be contacted by NSC and TIAA, and TCC has provided tips and resources to protect personal data while investigations continue.
