Taiwan's Systex Corporation reports ransomware attack

Systex Corporation, a Taiwanese IT service provider, is reporting a ransom note and is cooperating with the Ministry of Justice Investigation Bureau.

On Monday 31st of March the company confirmed a hacker attack. Preliminary investigations suggest a possible connection to the hacker group known as CrazyHunter, which has been linked to recent attacks on Taiwanese medical institutions, including Mackay Memorial Hospital.

No details are disclosed about any exposed data or impacted individuals.

The company has stated that there has been no significant impact on its operations thus far. The value of the ransom demanded has not been disclosed. Systex has posted a notice on its homepage warning that hackers have been impersonating the company to solicit fraudulent loans or investments.
