Taylor University has informed its students and staff about a security incident where unauthorized access to its computer systems was detected. The breach, which occurred between February 26 and May 18, was discovered following an extensive investigation by cybersecurity professionals.
The affected systems housed personal data, including:
- names,
- Social Security numbers,
- driver's license/state ID numbers,
The extent of data exposure varies for each individual. The university hasn't disclosed the nature of the attack or the number of affected individuals.
As of now, Taylor University has not found any evidence of misuse of the compromised information. To assist those impacted, the university has provided advice on protecting their data and offered free credit monitoring services to those whose Social Security numbers were involved.
