The attack, first noticed on December 13, involved the encryption of certain IT systems and data theft, including personal information, suggesting a ransomware incident.

Update - Aas of 18th of January 2024, VF Corp reported that the December incident has resulted in the personal data breach of about 35.5 million consumers, though the company assured no compromise of sensitive financial information or social security numbers.
