The official website of the Philippines' House of Representatives was compromised in a hacking incident, marking the latest in a series of cyberattacks targeting the government of this Southeast Asian nation.

The Secretary General, confirmed the unauthorized access and reported that corrective measures are being taken to address the issue, while the congress.gov.ph website remained inaccessible as of 5 p.m. local time.

The photo journal and press release section of the Lower House's website were defaced with a trollface image, and the plenary site streaming notices displayed Youtube videos featuring a dancing trollface.

A group named 3musketeerz claimed responsibility for the hacking.

Notably, this incident follows earlier cybersecurity concerns in the Philippines, including a data leak investigation by the Philippine Statistics Authority in October and a hacking incident involving the Philippine Health Insurance Corp. in September, where the hackers, known as Medusa, demanded a $300,000 ransom to delete the stolen files.
