Wytech Industries, a specialized manufacturer of precision medical wire and stainless steel tubing components, reports a data breach on August 25, 2025, after discovering that cybercriminals had compromised their systems and stolen over 42 gigabytes of sensitive organizational data.
The attack was claimed by the Akira ransomware group, which posted details on dark web forums before the company was even aware of the breach.
Wytech Industries reported to the incident to the Securities and Exchange Commission on August 29, 2025, in compliance with the SEC's cybersecurity disclosure rules. The company also began working with cybersecurity professionals to investigate the scope of the incident.
