Zumpano Patricios, P.A., a Miami-based law firm specializing in healthcare provider representation, is reporting a data breach that compromised personal and medical information of 279,275 individuals. The law firm primarily represents healthcare providers in disputes with health insurance companies over payment for medical services.

The firm detected the cyber-attack intrusion on its information technology network on May 6, 2025. The firm forced changing of all passwords, blocked external access, engaged third-party forensic experts to investigate and notified law enforcement of the cyber-attack.

Exposed data includes:

  • First and last names
  • Social Security numbers
  • Provider names and information
  • Member ID numbers
  • Health insurer information
  • Dates of birth
  • Dates of service
  • Amounts charged by healthcare providers
  • Payment amounts received for services
  • Clinical coding information
  • Medical records

The nature of the attack is not disclosed. 

Zumpano Patricios begin notifying affected individuals on July 3, 2025 and has offered affected individuals complimentary credit monitoring and identity theft protection services including 12 months of credit and dark web monitoring, a $1 million insurance reimbursement policy, and fully managed identity theft recovery services.
