Alert Medical Alarms (AMA), a provider of personal emergency response systems, reports a data breach on February 17, 2026.

Attackers broke into AMA's network and remained active for an undisclosed period before the company detected the disruption. After detection, the organization cut off all network access to stop the breach and prevent further data loss. An investigation conducted by a third-party cybersecurity firm confirmed that the attacker stole data from internal systems.

The compromised data includes:

  • Social Security numbers
  • Bank account numbers
  • Medicaid numbers and health insurance information
  • Prescription and medication information
  • Medical conditions
  • Full names and home addresses
  • Dates of birth
  • Customer ID and case numbers

The nature of the attack and the number of affected individuals is not disclosed.

Affected individuals are receiving notification letters via U.S. First Class Mail and are offered complimentary credit monitoring and identity theft restoration services. AMA also notified relevant state authorities and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
