Aristocrat reports MOVEit related data breach

Aristocrat, a prominent gaming content and technology company has confirmed that it fell victim to a cyber attack caused by MOVEit vulnerability, during which a hacker infiltrated the company's servers and extracted data. The stolen data, was subsequently posted online by the attacker.

The stolen data includes personal information belonging to Aristocrat employees, but details of the leaked data and number of impacted individuals are not disclosed.

Aristocrat contained the incident and patched the vulnerability present in its MOVEit software. Additionally, the company promptly informed pertinent law enforcement agencies, mandatory gaming authorities, and other relevant regulatory bodies about the breach. In a bid to address the situation, Aristocrat collaborated with independent experts to ascertain the extent of the data that had been stolen, implement countermeasures, and fulfill its responsibilities.

The company is informing its workforce worldwide about the incident and is offering complimentary services such as credit monitoring and identity theft protection.
