In the latest cyberattack targeting Swiss entities, hackers have released data from Basel's education department on the dark web. The department is currently assessing the sensitivity of the 1.2 terabytes of data. The criminal group BianLian gained unauthorized access to the municipal authority's servers through a malicious email and made the data public when ransom demands were not met. This incident follows a series of attacks on Swiss media groups, as well as other educational institutions such as the University of Zurich, indicating an increase in ransomware attacks in Switzerland.
