A MOVEit vulnerability related data breach has affected approximately 9,540 customers of the Bank of Canton
The data breach occurred due to a cyber security incident involving one of the bank's vendors, Fiserv, around or on May 27, 2023.
The Bank of Canton explained that the cyber incident originated from a problem with Fiserv's MOVEit Managed File Transfer application. This software, used by companies across the nation, became a target for hackers after vulnerabilities in its security were revealed. Fiserv informed the Bank of Canton on August 3 that customer data may have been accessed due to these vulnerabilities.
