Belize PlusTV's Email services Hacked

Learn More

Several employees of PlusTV in Belmopan, Belize, have reported that their emails were hacked, resulting in them being locked out and facing security barriers preventing them from regaining access.

PlusTV's managing director described the hacking as sophisticated due to the changes made, including implementing two levels of security that the company had not previously set up.

He clarified that the hacking was not a result of a phishing event, as one device was completely offline during the incident. The hackers changed the passwords, disabled the use of an old password, dislocated the cell number for verification, and also dislocated the secondary email address used for verification.

As a result, all verification requests were directed to the hacked account, leaving PlusTV without control of their main email and YouTube channel.
