Bitcointry Exchange is reporting a significant security breach affecting multiple cryptocurrency assets. The incident was first announced on March 3, 2025, when the company confirmed that malicious actors had compromised their hot wallet and token deployment address.

According to subsequent updates from Bitcointry, the breach was not due to a vulnerability in their platform's infrastructure but resulted from unauthorized access to the CEO's computer, where wallet credentials were stored. The company identified the attacker's address as 0x6f200Ec9A7847124bFC1c1617D6A821bf4b76B34.

The exchange has temporarily paused withdrawals for certain assets including USDT, PLS, HEX, and INC while they work on resolving the situation.

The attack resulted in the theft of:

  • Bitcointry Token (BTTY) liquidity
  • PulseChain (PLS)
  • PulseX (PLSX)
  • Hex (HEX)
  • INC tokens
  • USDT (Tether) on the Pulse chain
  • Binance Coin (BNB) liquidity

The exact number of affected users and the total value of stolen assets have not been disclosed.

Bitcointry has launched an investigation to identify the source of the attack, enhanced security measures to protect remaining user assets and is collaborating with authorities and security experts.

Bitcointry claims that user logins remain fully operational and most withdrawals are still possible (except for the temporarily paused assets). They are working on a compensation plan to cover all liabilities related to Pulse tokens and BTTY liquidity

The security breach has created significant concern among investors, potentially leading to immediate sell-offs and price drops for BTTY token as trust in the platform has been damaged. Market analysts expect confidence in BTTY might remain low until the situation is fully resolved.
