On January 25, 2024, Planet Home Lending, LLC reported a data breach stemming from a ransomware attack. This security incident, first detected on November 15, 2023, involved unauthorized access to the company's IT network, leading to the compromise of sensitive consumer information.
This breach was linked to a vulnerability in Citrix Systems, Inc. software utilized by Planet Home Lending. The inquiry, concluded on November 28, 2023, revealed that the ransomware group accessed a folder containing customers' loan information.
The breached data includes:
- Names
- Addresses
- Social Security numbers
- Loan numbers
- Financial account numbers
Over 200,000 individuals were exposed in this attack.
This is a second breach report from Planet Lending within 6 months, after the MOVEit related breach reported in September 2023.
By January 24, 2024, the company started distributing data breach notification letters to the impacted individuals, outlining the specifics of the compromised information.
